Buckle up to Ujjain.

The abrupt plan for Ujjain sprouted with Swami Anand planting the seeds, and the entire squad of templeers rolled up their socks for the trip to the Mahakaal – one of the Jotir Linga. The mission was to attend the Bhasm(Ash) Aarti at 3.00 am (ya ‘am’ :)re ). With Swami Anand being firm and resolute in his sankalpa, we just followed…
Landed at 10.00 pm at the local teacher Lata ji’s house and her hospitality was commendable. By mid-night we had wrapped up the food, polished off the  desert, revered in the ancient Mahakal stories and dived into deep slumber with her narrative of Guruji’s trip to Ujjain.
We were late and reached the temple by 4.45 am and allowed grace to work its entry for us. The pooja was delayed for no reasons and we romped in. Dressed compulsorily in angavastram veshti (though the style of dhoti is Kashtha) we entered the sanctum sanctorum and amidst all the chaos the peace was predominantly powerful.
Then we took our positions in the temple, the rudra pooja getting underway. The serenity reverberating to every corner of the temple, the chanting echoing in every cell, the tranquility resonating in the consciousness.  Peace Prevailed. Love Flowed. Life Floated.

The pinnacle of the entire pooja happened when the lights were darkened and the spirits got brightened. It gave a feeling of oneness while the shiva linga was bathed in the ashes. The mind completely switched off with the lights and the senses extinguished, I simply closed my eyes into oblivion.
Thanks to Swami Anand to make this trip a reality for all of us. He is a temple addict, we intoxicated ourselves with doses of Kaal Bhairav, HarSiddhi, GokulDham Ashram. While they spent hours in other temples I took my sleep potion in the car. The resplendent MahaKaal is a trip into timelessness. A trip into nothingness. Satyam Shivam Sundaram!!

Buckle up and come to Ujjain.
