My first Q & A here

Q) My husband sees AOL as an ‘organized religion’. He says that just like all organized religion we have a blind mass following, we have group practices/courses, we say JGD, we have chandan, we have a leader, we meet weekly, we actively recruit people to join etc.
Ans) There are practices which many of us do, like brushing our teeth, taking bath and this is inculcated within us today. The above practices were part of our daily routines and have faded away. We need to do them regularly for our own good. And what’s wrong with a cult of well-mannered, compassionate people, we infact need such cults of good people. The world lacks them today.
Q) Bhaiya, is it a spiritual or religious Hindu organization? I told him that not only Hindus but people from all the world belong to AOL.
Ans) Totally spiritual. Spirituality is about feeling good, and to attain to that there are some religious practices that one may do. Its like to feel good with your stomach, you need to eat an ice-cream. The post ice-cream feeling is spirituality, the ice-cream is religious 🙂
Q) He does not like the idea of praying to a Man however learned or enlightened the person is. He does not understand why we all only have Guru ji’s pic (and not other Gods and Goddesses) during satsang.
Ans) There is no difference between God, Guru and us. Well, with what attributes do you define Krishna as God? Guruji has all of them! Doesn’t that qualify Him as God? Well, I am here in South Korea and the person with whom I am staying has put his parents picture in the kitchen. Why did he put his parents picture only, and not my parents pic? Since he loves them. We love Guruji and we love to have His picture 😉
Q) He does not like the idea that instead of thinking for ourselves we run to him with our problems regarding business, health, future etc.
Ans) Ask any child after giving his exam hasn’t he prayed for the result? We also give our exams of life and then run to him….every step is an exam, and every moment there is a result 🙂
Q) Why do volunteers force people to do the course?
Ans) The nature of doing good is to postpone. Whatever good we have inculcated (like brushing, bathing etc) has come with some nudging. And the nature of joy is to share. So combine the two and think about it.
ps : Would surely like your comments to these. If you have any questions, you can write to me.

I feel these questions bother most of the people who have been brought up in a relatively open atmosphere without being trained from childhood to follow rituals in the name of religion or God at home and their introduction to God/religion has been through schooling,Somehow the atmosphere at hindu religious places leaves much to be desired and such people have to ignore their questioning minds in order to find a solace at such places which is possible in extreme conditions of joy , sorrow or fear.As far as blind following of Guruji is concorned, some things are beyond ones control :)) whether one likes it or not.
