This was a long pending movie to be watched and my ipod had carried it for many months now. A 10 hour flight from Nadi, Fiji to Hongkong and I feel honored now that I decided to see it. Usually melodramatic movies are not my choice, but this turned out to be filled with devotion, sacrifice, love and truth.
Meera, hailing from the princely Rathod Rajput family, had her mind fixed on Lord Krishna right from the days that she remembered. The circa is around the century when Akbar wants to rule over the entire India and the only resistance he found was from the Rajputs. But here the rajputs are divided between the Rathod’s and the Sisodia’s. So the Rathod King decides to give away his daughers hand to the Sisodia family and thus cementing a bigger army alliance. But things take a turn and Meera gets wed to the Sisodia family and her struggle to balance her devotion with her marriage begins.
Hema Malini has justified her role as Meera though at times she looks dull and dry without the flair of devotion. Vinod Khanna was superb as Rana and in the end when he discloses how he relates to Meera, was an acting par excellence. I wish someone remakes this for the modern generation and gets Lata Mangeshkar to sing all those Meera Bhajans. I almost soaked my eyes in the flight watching her sing “Mere toh Giridhar Gopal”, she is totally wet in devotion and love for her lord, I found her to be one of her kind, alone, yet not lonely.
I conclude Fiji today and fly back to India tomorrow. It was a overwhelmingly wonderful trip and I soon realized why I had to be here missing the Ashtavakra back Home. With 14 courses and hundreds of people having received this knowledge, Fiji looks re-born again with divinity. The Yes+ took birth here and is soon blossoming into a solid youngster with the recently concluded course for the Miss/Mr Fiji of the Hibiscus Festival.
The Hibiscus Festival is the mother of all festivals in Fiji with around a hundred thousand people attending the finale which happens in August. But before that the Hibiscus Committee decided to upgrade their participants with internal beauty and unfold it from within. It was a naughty bunch of the most beautiful people in Fiji, but I had a very nice time with them. I bid Moce (good-bye) to this beautiful island nation and it’s lovely beaming people.
I shot this video while teaching the course and then edited it and here it is for your viewing experience. Happy Viewing. Let me know your feedback and comments.
As I wind up Fiji, I took a cruise to the Yasawa Islands, breathtakingly beautiful and passionately peaceful. Pristine beaches, corals, snorkeling, kayaking and lots of food made a trip totally unforgettable. It was my first ship tour and the ocean has so much to offer unconditionally.
I shot this entire video with my Canon 500d and edited it yesterday night. It is the first video also shot by me, edited and created. Music was such a difficult thing to choose, so I browsed a lot and found what i was looking for. It starts with the fun and frolic, but I wanted to end it with a thought and spine chilling music by Clint Mansell, totally worth a watch. Do allow it to stream fully and then sit back, tighten up and happy viewing.
The religion of the movie is nonsense and the commandments are fooling the viewer, concluding him to be ignorant and unintelligent. The guys (Read girls) at IIT-Kanpur took me for this obnoxiously distressing insincere film and I don’t remember how I agreed and why ? Ten of us jumped into the unknown not knowing what waited for us at Rave-3 and I now remember the smirky look on the face of the ticket seller.
The movie starts with Shahid Kapoor a struggling actor wanting to make it big in the Bollywood bonanza without thriving on subterfuge and fibs. The senseless story, the amateurish camera work, the abhorrent acting of the leads makes the movie extremely distasteful.
Even if you get it for free, stay at home and enjoy a meal with karela and lauki, be grateful for this chance.
Pandora’s moon, which is a giant mass of connected energy and emotional synapses where the entire plot unfolds, dia-abled mariner Jake Sully whose twin brother is killed is aided to lead a mining expedition as his DNA will bond with the alien hybrid body named Avatar, which allows humans to breathe the toxic air in the jungles of this land.
The movie quickly gets into action without any lapses and Jake soon finds himself on two islands, one of love, the other of ‘his race’. Which one will he finally select or find a balance is to be seen in the this James Cameron’s movie which will define the new avatar to technology for years to come. The similarities between the twin towers and the massive tree, Iraq, Afghanistan wars are so evident and the verdicts of the director are more towards the live and let live.
The scenes are so advanced that it is difficult to differentiate between the animation and the real, and simply droll over them. Drop the differentiation and the movie is a love letter to human race and mother nature.
Surely watch it and do say ‘I see you’ !
PS:- I watched the Premiere and blogged about it It releases today.
Have watched 5 movies in 2 days and am hungry for more All movies have been recommended by Sylvain, the french guy with whom I stay, whose movie taste tingles your senses for more. Most of them have been thrillers and he has got me addicted to them, with his fine french selection.
The movie curls around you like a snake and powerfully and mysteriously allures you into its grip and releases you into a world full of illusions which only enhances its enticement. Edward Norton is a magician illusionist who has given his best performance here, his eye contacts with the camera, his composure and his moves are magical and magnificent. His lady love, the Duchess Sophie has been separated from him since 15 years and he is back as a master magician. His powers become a peril for the Crown prince and his to-be held engagement to the beautiful Dutchess.
The Dutchess gets murdered and Inspector Uhl whose work is honed by easiness and intelligence, investigates into the powers and intentions of the magician. The illusion is a parable about what you see and what is really happening. The end is mesmerizing and is left for the audience to conclude whether the magician was an illusionist or a man possessed by darker forces. A Must Watch.
The highlight of this movie is the emotional upheavals it graphs you through, you smile and cry with it as if it talks directly to you through the screen. Hilary Swank is brilliant, a determined school teacher who sparkles, induces passion in her teaching English to a class of incorrigible misfits of blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians, most of whom are involved with gangs. Their minds garrisoned with violence, post Rodney King incident, the film is about deriving life out of a disillusioned world, inflicting devotion in a discriminating society and finally carving a human being out of hooligans.
Her transition from a naive inexperienced teacher to a tough teacher was very interesting to unfold. Her naivete was not overdone and she has handled her character like a pro. Her marriage and commitment to her work leading to her personal divorce derived a range of emotions without cheap gimmicks. Every character contributes a small amount of puzzle which in all turns into an enjoyable performance. A Must Watch !!
