Observing the thoughts is like standing at the divider of a road where traffic is zooming past in both the directions. On one side are the thoughts and on the other are the sensations it creates. But we are in the centre, watching the thoughts gushing by and if we get caught in some, subsequently observing deeper, the sensations it has produced. Whichever colours, make, design the cars are, we allow them to pass by, since the purpose is to cross to the other side, similarly observing the emotions, positive or negative, love or hatred, anger or compassion, pain or pleasure. Just plain observation. Unobjectionable ogling at them, without judgements, without haggling with them. The intention is to walk over to the other side without getting irritated, yet aware and alert, patiently waiting to cross over.
ya thats wht i do just observe but sometimes even while observing the irritation or upset or any emotion there is a nagging feeling which takes a long time to go … u r aware to exactly all wht is happeninginside of you but buddy u cant do a thing but silently ,PATIENTLY(!!!!) ,OBSERVE…
super lyk
Nice metaphor!
“Unobjectionable ogling” 🙂 that’s wat we do with girls..hehe
How bout when one gets stuck in the observation and forgets to cross over?

what a thought bhaiya…..
i feel i m on the divider now during the DSN
thanks 4 putting light.
gr8 point!!!
great thought bhaiyya….
but sometimes the cars are so cool n attractive that we really feel like taking a lift…. but never forgetting the main task- getting over to the other side…. crossing the road through the fast moving highway….
it’s not enough that we run away from negativity without actually understanding it…. in fact, we never can…. so do this- observe them n understand them…. that’s the only way… we can’t pass an exam that we don’t understand…
absolutely loved the post! one of your bests in the recent past!
