Individuality & Commonality

Long Long ago, when it was my second ashram visit, I went with all my trauma and sadness to meet the master. Yes, life was on a tough rollercoaster and before I knew it He had sucked away all of it with His wisdom, wit, grace and unconditional love. He tackles life’s Big questions and teaches us to celebrate in life’s smallest miracles. In short, makes us feel grateful for life first, then its attributes

I had just had the darshan and didn’t want to leave the room, so took position as the local Prasad distributor. I remember there were the tasty jackfruit chips as Prasad and I was picking some and giving to the devotees passing by, my eyes firmly locked on Him. Almost everyone had left and it was His turn to pass by me, I thought of giving Him the chips and put my hand forward to serve Him into His palms.

He looked at me straight into the eyes and said “Don’t you know how to serve Prasad? “ I, being a software engineer then, had never been assigned this job by my boss. He took the entire jackfruit chips packet and told me to serve people by asking them to take, instead of me giving them into their palms. Then He said something very deep “ Dono haato se dena sikho, aur choon ke lena sekho”. (Learn to serve with both your hands and choose and pick ,when you have to take) .

Over the years, I realized to surrender with open arms and choose and pick on the thoughts which bombard you, to act or not to. Being in utter love, and yet being undisturbed, caring yet not being worried, picking persistence yet not being perturbed. His words exude an ingenuous brand of wisdom guaranteed to renew the spirit for universal appeal and to celebrate the individuality and commonality of human experience.

PS:- I have been shuffling between Indore & Varanasi for the two Utsav’s back to back. If you have someone do send them. Also I have upgraded myself to Safari 4 & I simply enjoyed its speed and new features. I have had my first mango of this season from Varanasi. Waiting for more…
